Fish Room Build Thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well a few things have happened.

The rays and arowana are lounging in the 650 after I finalized the move of the aro last Wednesday. Little bit nerve wrecking to move such an expensive fish but me' trusty old Zander rubber net worked out fine.

The reason for moving was two fold.
It became hard to keep nitrates down in the 90 gallon and that tank got new inhabitants :OMG:

Now its filled with 10 x Cichla sp Xingu and 1 x L95 Orange Cheek Pleco

The down side is that now the arowana is sulking and has refused to eat for 4-5 days...

On the build side the following has been done

- Installed new DRIP systems since I couldn't get the drip emitters to be leak free
- Finalized the 15 mm acrylic lids with a feeding hatch (free hand routing with a Dremel is a ***** to get a nice cut)
- Trying to reset the Radion lights to get some light in the tank and successfully failing at it :swear:
- Build a redneck internal filter in the 500 gallon to house a single fish

Things to do in the immediate future
- Insulate to piping in the room since the cold water drip is condensing like a MF
- Tune the DRIP to sufficient level since I'm going on a 8 day vacation in 2 weeks
- Install a few more heaters in the 650
- Start the plumbing for the 500 gallon
- Power feed all fish for the remaining 2 weeks to fatten them for 8 days without food
- Order and install lights for the grow out rack

I´ll post some very bad pictures in the next post since in nigh impossible to take pictures with a phone with only ambient lighting. My brother in law promised me a lesson in DSLR photography which I might take him up on soon.

Bonus fish in the next post (take a stab on what it is!)

Tobiassorensen Tobiassorensen sorry for not texting you pictures before. Work is killing me...

Wow I didn't realize the pictures was this bad. I'll try to get some better ones tomorrow, both of the new fish and the 650.
