I have a 50 dollar petco gift card. I want to buy some plants from them, but I would be buying them for my prized possession tank, which I DO NOT want to deal with diseases or parasites.

DO NOT want to deal with diseases or parasites.
I've personally purchased live plants in containers and in the aquariums from Petco. The only issue I have now is BB Algae that I've read can be introduced from plants. Snails probably is the biggest concern for me so I suggest thoroughly checking lfs aquariums for Snails.
I will be dipping my new plants in part water and peroxide before placing in the aquarium from now on.

2 part water 1 part peroxide?

I will definetly Watch for snails

I already deeled With BBA, and have a Secret weapon if it does get introduced, as with other kinds of algae.

Is there any risk of deadly diseases or parasites?

I don't know about deadly but would avoid plants if you notice dying or dead fish in that aquarium. Very possible for a plant to harbor a parasite hitchhiker.
What parasite hitchhiker may come along?
