Yes indeed it's a heating cable ... I've never used it before, I thought I would give it a shot despite very different reviews that I've read about it.

ps. I like your tank a lot, how did you manage to cut the glass like that for the over flow ?! + what do you plan on keeping in your 150gal ?

I had a glass company cut it. Everything with the glass was done by Minneapolis Glass Company. Basically they drilled 2 holes similar to the one half circle you have, then cut the section out from that. My water level with the sump running is about 1/2" from the top of the glass. Got a QuietOne 4000 as my water pump...both ballvalves (overflow and return) are wide open. When I get done with everything on my "TO DO" list I want 10 Red Belly Piranha in the tank with 5 or 6 Amazon Swords.
