120g Saltwater Fish Tank!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
has your dad spent any money on this so far?
if he has tell him it'll be a watse cause the tank would go downhill so fast with the filter going 24/7 or close to.
the filter should reallly be going all the time, or at least 20 hours a day (bare minimum) and i don't suggest doing that for noise's sake.

Whats making the noise?? The actual filter or water bubbling and splashing??
On a tank like yours i cant imagine the pump is noisy enough to be annoying unless there is something wrong with it or your dad is superman.

It's the water going into the Built in Overflow box I believe, i removed some water from the sump and added it to the main tank and it has gotten a little better, the pump is staying on tonight =)

so he's complaining from the water splashing in the overflow?
in thought white noise helped you sleep lol

Okay I filled the tank up higher and the overflow now does't make as much noise, i used the water from the sump =D everything is looking good except my lights are sooo strong they produce an algea problem, my LFS said that the best way to get the algea off the glass is from a Acrilic scrubber which i got but are their any shrimp, crabs, or snails that can do this?

around me they are like a $1.20. no idea what they are like in CA.
emerald crabs and bluelegged and scarlet hermits are good for getting it off the rocks. you may want to add calcium to the tank if you get alot of turbos tho as they will eat coralline algea.
