If I was in your shoes I would just get a mate for your fish. Then you can give it it's whole life cycle.

Find out what it is (your Texas) male or female. Then get 3ish of the one you need. So the one you have can pick it's mate. Then rehome or put into an extra tank the left overs in case the inital bonding don't take or one kills the other, never can tell with cichlids.

You would have to rehome the poly or put it in a different tank. A breeding pair will shred anything that gets close to it's babies.

I wouldn't substitute anything for the JD, since you added 6 firemouths. If your going to do 6 FM's I might leave the salvini out as well personally. Firemouths are all bark no bite, and salvini are pretty mean.
Well could i do

1 Texas
6 Firemouth
1 Severum or Blood Parrot
2 Electric Blue Arcaras
6-8 Congo Tetras
2-3 Bichirs
1 Black Ghost Knife Fish

Thats a problem, i cant rehome fish, plus i really dont want to breed.

This may change your mind...soo cute right.

Another day and I should have eggs hatching into wigglers
Are those convicts?
Congrats on the pair, i would like to breed but dont have the time or money too.

Honduran Red Points, a cousin to the standard convict. Was found not so long ago and recently made it into the Aquarium trade vs some long time standards like Oscars and the like.

Could i do 1 in my tank or do they like to be in groups?

Would be ok as a single. If at all possible make sure you get all males if making a commuity cichlid tank. Females even when males are not around still lay eggs, and when they do they turn into Tasmanian devils. I learned this the hard way

seems like a lot to me with that many cichlids
What about if i take out the EBA's could i switch them out and maybe do a gold gourami and maybe a school of Boesemani Rainbowfish?
