If I was in your shoes I would just get a mate for your fish. Then you can give it it's whole life cycle.
Find out what it is (your Texas) male or female. Then get 3ish of the one you need. So the one you have can pick it's mate. Then rehome or put into an extra tank the left overs in case the inital bonding don't take or one kills the other, never can tell with cichlids.
You would have to rehome the poly or put it in a different tank. A breeding pair will shred anything that gets close to it's babies.
