ummm.. lets see how typing while thinking goes... uhhh... uhhhh.. uhhhh.. T on the outside... then bulkhead... 90 in the tank pointed up.. then a straight piece to get you to the correct hight.. then another 90 (which will point sideways and be loud)... soooo.. then another 90 which will point down.... and.... yeah... i think that will do it..

might look a bit weird.. but overflow vs few pieces of pvc... i dunno.. ill think about this more later.. for now.. im going to bed.. i think im about to get an early bday present..

you can also do a durso in the tank, 90 up from bulkhead with durso above 90 at desired water level.

again i think better pics and i might have got it right off. soo its not threaded into the bulkhead reall? i think i may be onto your plan and if so i see the point and how it works

yeah it's threaded into the bulkhead but the rest of it slips into the "thread to slip" adaptor

yeah. the overflow box sets your water level right? well the centerline of the T in a durso sets a water line too. so without an overflow box you just raise the durso to your desired waterline.

yep thats how they work. no idea on the stockmans though.

If you do the downward poiting setup as you had first posted. It should work fine. Just make sure that the PVC overflow is well sealed.

I would be a little leary of just putting a Durso in the tank without an overflow. Durso work great and are quiet, but tend to have a high level of fluctuation when it comes to water level.

The silencer si another option to the durso. I will try and find a better picture of how those work that will better explain it. I will work on this.
