48x48 Workhorse "The Rig"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your 8mm twin wall (link #3) or my 6mm twin wall should be rigid enough to support that weight no problem as long as it's edge supported. It's pretty stiff material because of the channels. Heck it's used in greenhouse roofs on a 4 foot span between supports!

BTW, I used a new utility knife blade to cut the 6mm TW PC no problem. No need for a fine tooth circular saw or jig saw.

Perfect, thanks again. Just ordered.

Tee minus 7 days 6 hours till she’s home...

Started messing with mounting some wood now that it has sunk. I have lots of manzanita to move around and make a mangrove escape for tank mates to rest.

Won’t be adding the cycled K1 until the day fish go in. We’re experimenting with small pumps for the towers as well. I’ll post up the results once I find the right combo. Air isn’t quite enough for what I want and the powerheads were a bust

N nzafi this is 1.33 cft so far. Looks to be room to go up to 2 cft

Great progress. I’m drfinitel going hmf though :)

Do you have a preferred brand of sponge filter? Need to pick up a couple to help me cycle the future tank.

I get the cheap hydor brand. #5 if I recall. It’s the largest size under the pond one. I have 12 and love them.

Right?! I didn’t get much done on it this weekend, we switched to a different project while this cycles.

Last night vs today: chewing through 3.0-4.0 down to 0.5 ammonia in 18 hours. It should be cycled 100% on Wed, drip installed Thu, Fri is WC and prep for Sat

Is that a pond lol

The last of the hung up nitrite ended last night so this tank is heavily cycled now. In less than 24 hours this tank gets its first test putting in work as a large QT setup.
