500 Gallon Peacock Bass Aquarium

Finished polishing and cleaning, now just time to fill and drain a few times to make sure no polishing chemicals are in the aquarium.
just read entire thread very nice, just wanted to say nice job documenting everything it keeps the thread interesting. Cant wait for your tank to be set up.

Thanks, progress has been too slow for me for a while, but back on track for now. It's nice to finally be filling it up again, about 1/3rd of the way there. It'll be filling all evening though, then drain and start aquascaping!
Finally full of water to rinse out any chemicals! Unfortunately the camera is with the wife, so can't post any pictures.
Tomorrow brings draining, pool filter sand, driftwood, rocks, asparagus fern, hair grass, swords (fake) zip ties and egg crate.

i admit - while they are small, the fx5s will keep it clear and seemingly particulate free, but ill say again, once i added a sump and filter socks, the water became drastically clearer...
that many grown pbass produce an insane amount of waste, and in a tank that deep, it will be hard to dial in the flow well enough to keep the tank looking clear

Bubbles in the tank finally went away, I'm happy with how the polishing turned out, so draining now to start putting in the aquascaping materials.
Orinos still not getting better, starting to show some red areas from flicking on the and so much. Added more salt, raised temp to 90F and will do another WC tonight. They need to get better so they can go to their new home! I'm also starting to notice a decrease in appetite, so makes me nervous that they may be getting worse. So frustrating!

The 29 gallon is now between 90-91F, I'll try to keep it here for a couple of days to see if the spots start to decrease. I am trying to feed them probably 4-5 times a day this weekend because they only eat for a few minutes. One orino in particular looks pretty skinny, not eating, and has strings coming off the fins. I'll be very annoyed if their new home gets setup and they don't get better. Nothing else I can do now but keep up WC's and wait.
