Use Weldon 16. That’s what I did on my joints for peace of mind. No leaks.
Where did you get it? I can’t find it at Home Depot or Lowe’s, just amazon.

JK47 how did you fix the reeflo pipe sealant when you had leaks? The plumbing is extremely tight and I’m worried I’ll damage the threads. Is there a way to remove and re-seal properly?
Quick update. Looks like I’ve fix all leaks with unions and tightening ultima intake seems to have worked. Still need to fix the elbow leak and unfortunately my pump is leaking by both the intake and return. I’ll need to remove it and redo the thread sealant.

I used rectorseal and applied a lot to stop the ldo aka on the pump unions.
The pump thread sealant is likely because the slip portion was done after the thread sealant. You want no movement after thread sealant. The amount you used looked perfect. You want a nice solid bead around the top. Turn the valves off and unthread the union nut. You don’t have to empty the lines but may need to temporarily support them while the pump is out. Should only take a half hour or so.
The elbow can be fixed by emptying the line, drying the leak area and applying some weldon likemrrobxc suggested or even more of the cement you have now. It will not look great but applying more cement over the top may stop it as well if small. There are other products like putties etc that can be used as well.
mrrobxc think I’m hitting some of your frustration points. At the stage where I’m wondering why the hell I did an ultima.
Do I need to remove the existing sealant and how?
