Update :

Segregated the red fin Piebold males 9 and the two females into a 40g / 10g

30 fry are in the 75g -

Even the two girls are fighting ??

Thought all male was supposed to be less aggressive? These things are aggro!

Theses darn m lutea.... there’s two slightly obvious males... the other 10... who knows?

Any advice other than to take a vent pic of all 12? Would that even solve it?

Ideas on sexing? Probably gonna make egg crate dividers...

Well,

gonna be the hybrid king sadly... between my designer hybrid bass and now these guys...

I bought these two species under the direction of Dave from rare fish... did not really want the piebald... wanted the lutea and others... anywho... take home point... maybe order what you want.... at least I’d own my own mistake... anywgo... not Dave’s fault at all... or maybe 30% - requested ratio... m/f did not happen, got 10m/2f and not even sure on the other group....

moving forward... seems a lutea knocked up a piebald... now have 30 randos...

Thankfully, after I Separated the two groups have a new small group of 15 fry or so....

thankfully LFS’s where I live are terrible and CL is an easy place to find homes for excess fish...

pics... looks like yellow spots on anal fin, a lutea trait not piebald... ?

Saga continues....

well,

im gonna give it another few months... these redfin piebalds are super aggro little dudes! the mbpia lutea were supposed to be the aggro ones... the lutea have not colored up either sadly... think i’m going to stack all the victorians in one tank and go with a mbuna group -

was trying to get as colorful a group as possible.

the Lutea also have sunken belly sadly too... two treatments of general cure, going to deworm when it gets here...

didn’t wanna start a mew thread - looking for ideas -

wondering if i should do a mbuna or Tang tank with one of the 75’s as it sits empty currently

i’ve got 2 - 75g’s and 2 - 40g’s (overflow)

steve at exotic aquatics has -compressiceps, tropheus, eretmodus, moba, nasuta gold

i wanna give africans another chance - the victorians are kind of medium - don’t color up, lots of fighting.... i may keep a select few in a 40g - the species i was excited about the m lutea never have colored up (here since dec 2019)

don’t wanna dedicate more than a 75g - i realize “mona” are big ....

any recommendations ratios are appreciated!

thanks all!

Flint town!
Fronts get to large for a 75. Tropheus are cool. The ertmodus are a cool looking fish that I am also interested in. The ones around here are all the plain silverish kind of bland ones. The darker one with blue spots is nice.
