Ophi I never, ever suggested other people don't know what they doing. I'm not one to comment on the likes of Steve Irwin, because I don't know every little thing he knows and doesn't, but unless you know any steve irwins on here who's parents own a very famous zoo and probably taught them everything they know then this don't really count. I was talking about the average annies on here, who, whilst very experienced are NOT qualified on anatomy, all the insides of reptiles, well tbh just about qualified in anything. You are taking this WAY to seriously, and you know full well what I mean. I was the first to say your very experienced, and I will say the same for many on here, but until they are qualified, working, highly popular and high paid (because of their popularity and success) vets, I will stick with my vet who has always done good for me. Like I said, you are taking this way to seriously IMO, and are going into every tiny detail when not needed. Tell me that if, you found an ideal reputable vet who had studied for years and was highly qualified, that you would trust people on here for health issues etc rather than this vet? I have no doubt vets have been proved wrong, not everybody can be right all the time, but this really is a silly matter to get into, because I know almost (if not all) on this website would rather go to a reputable vet than just come online for answers to health issues, so lets stop the silliness and precisness. I see your point though, I don't know about the USA but I know in the UK there are SO many rules and regulations, it just shows it with what we cannot keep without a license, where as in the US you can. I just don't think, that until you have seen this iguana in the flesh, or anybody has for that matter, has right to question the vet who comfirmed 3 other peoples (and past owners) guesses (?) that it was indeed female. I'm sure you will agree? You cannot start a large discussion about this from one picture I'm afraid, although it would definately, be an interesting one. Tbh I wouldn't kick up a fuss about this if I weren't sure of her sex, because I am not really assed whether she is male or female, and would appreciate peoples input (as I do), the only reason I am is because it's coming into something a little more than 'she looks male', people are now telling me to check her pores etc. Honestly not starting an argument this discussion is quite interesting and hopefully will get alot of other peoples opinions too.
CTUFAN Thanks for the support. I have a few pictures where I know most would totally change their mind, because you can Lucky's head without her puffing out/displaying, and you can tell at a glance she is female. Her jaw and head is evident to that of a female and is a totally different shape, size and build to a males, it is much MUCH smaller. As for her spikes, its not one go on alone tbh, there will be a few female iggys out there with slightly longer spikes than the rest.
