Can you explain your logic of building on site vs shipping a finished aquarium? Was it cost of shipping or logistics of getting it from the truck to the stand.

I wanted a fully built aquarium, but for some reason delivery costed £480, I live in rainham London Essex UK and the aquarium Manufacturers I choose to go with are based in Manchester, which is a 2.5hour drive in good traffic as in no traffic lol, so I guess their transportation insurance is high. To be honest when they said £480 I was thinking that's not gonna happen lol, so having it built on site just saved that cost, that's it.

Quick question, I've heated aquariums before, but what would you guys suggest, I'm open to suggestions, the aquarium Manufacturers suggested a 3kw pond heater, but I'd rather use 2 x 1000watt heaters or maybe just 2x500watt as it's in the living room and it'll be the initial warming up at the start to get it where it needs to be where I suppose the heaters will be switched on but I can't see the temperature fluctuating thereafter. Let me know your thoughts.

Dream tank right there. Very beautiful.

My no experience with a tank this size says go with two 1000 watt heaters. Unless the pond heater is fairly energy efficient than that might be the better way to go.

Goodluck with the rest of the build.

That's huge! It's gonna be awesome!

My only concern with so many eventually monster fish is nitrate creep, especially with rays. I would amp it up eventually if I were you :)

Hi, and yeah I have that concern in mind as well, the plan is to add a pond sized fluidised bed filter to the sump in time to come, I used a pond fluidised bed filter on my 8x2x2 glass aquarium a few years back and it's amazing how it kept nitrates so low, only drawback was during maintenance, I accidentally shut down the glow to the fluidised bed filter and it was very tricky to get it moving again, but apart from that it's brilliant Im supprised it's not used more in freshwater when keeping big fish.
