You are extremely arrogant to attack the OP and call him a "jack ass troll". I've never talked to the OP directly but I have seen him around enough to know that he is a member here, not by any stretch of the imagination a troll.

Oh, and the different font sizes and colors make the post almost unreadable.


To answer the OP's question... I am the same way, and I'm sure I've made some enemies for trying to correct people. I'm not a fan of people growing fish out, with intentions of getting rid of the fish once they outgrow the tank. I feel that it's somewhat selfish. But when you know that the person who you are trying to inform isn't listening, for the sake of not getting into a war with someone you don't know, just let it be ;)
 
He had that one coming. If you dont agree quite frankly that is your choice. But it had tobe said and yeah I said it.
 
Well I have never been one for going after people for expressing their opinions. Your opinion, I'm sure, is very valid. What I think is completely uncalled for is using terms like "jackass" and "troll".
 
yeah that was a bit harsh... however, all of the posts that I have seen the OP make have been negative and in no way helpful to the people that he is insulting. There is a way to tell people they are doing something wrong and that is by suggesting better methods and practices not just by throwing around insults. shame on you.

If you make a productive suggestion to someone, and the person responds negatively, be done with it. When it reaches insults, you've gone too far ;)
 
This is why I decided not to work in a lfs. If I were to work there I would interrogate each potential buyer and most likely reject a majority of people. There is a right way and a wrong way to correct people. You can give suggestions and let them know the true potential growth their fish have or you can be ass and flame them for not knowing any better. We all started this hobby clueless, so when you go around high and mighty correcting people for having no idea. You sound like a pompous ass. Give them the credit of coming here and wanting to know more about their fish. Its our responsibility give them advice and answers.

golcondorus, you make a good point but the truth is, most people dont want to hear it... and if us knowlegable fishkeepers didnt buy the fish, some idiots would. IMO we do our best for our fish.
