WOW! GL look on craigslist that what i do.

tropical.. any updates.. any luck with the babies.

ive had 5 spawns with no luck getting swimmers to live more then a few days.

few more days and i will move both breeding pairs to their own 30g tanks. need to clean out my 125 grow out tank. i havent been able to clean for 2 months due to eggs all over the place. im taking out all the live plants and just leaving gravel bottom. for now.

im thinking once they are in the 30g 20% waterchanges twice a week. is that enough?

id like to get at least a few spawns to live. i bought some first bites and 2 in tank brine shrimp hatcheries. not sure how these in tanks work but ill let u know. the hatched brine can swim out after hatching right into the tank. the water from the hatchery wont get in the tank somehow.

Well.. not looking so good. The eggs that were layed on... I think tuesday are still there, but the parents have eaten about half of them! I don't under stand!!!!! AHHHH!!!!
I think that Tuesday I will be selling 75 of my baby angelfish to a pet store and getting CASH!!! $1.50 per Angelfish!!!

Good news is that in my 75 gallon I have 2 babies that are 1 year old now and 1 angelfish from a pet store, 1 of the babies and the 1 from the petstore both have there egg tubes down and are cleaning a spot on one of my anubias leaves!!!! MORE EGGS!!!!!

Mos90, will the 2 30 gallon tanks have the parents or the babies??

i am going to keep the parents in the 30's for 2-3 weeks after the babies are swimmers. then i will move parents back to the partitioned 125.

with only 2 breeder tanks im definately going to have to ignore some of the spawns until i can move the babies to the 125. if i can get any of them to live.

i just checked the water in the 30's. looking good. temp 81. ph 7.2. i will add the angels tommarow. wish me luck.

Sounds good! I if I were you I would get some tank dividers and divide the 125 gallon into 2 parts. If the 125 is 6feet long then I would divide it in 1 2 foot long section and then the other 4 foot long section. I would also not move the parents as that could break there bond. I would just syphon out the babies into a bucket and then dump them into the appropriate tank.
I would leave the babies in with the parents (if the parents will care for them) for 2 weeks after they are free swimming. Then move them into the 2 foot long section of the 125 gallon for 3 weeks.
Then into the 4 foot long section until they are big enough to go to the store, that way you will have more room to keep more of the spawns and crank out the $$$.

that is just what I would do.

Two pairs=more work. Lol.

Yea tropical. That's a good plan. The only problem is I made a homemade divider. It's is acrylic with small holes drilled in it. In order for the Fry not to pass threw the holes I'd have to add some sort of mesh to it. I wish someone made a divider for a 125.

It is a 6ft. Tank. Just finished taking out all the plants. Cleaned them and gave them to my friend who owns local Lfs. The tank is filthy and needs a good scrubbing. Planning on keeping it bare with just gravel for the time being.
