The M-70s you most likely are referring to as well as the WASR are semi-auto AKM-47 NOT AK-47 style rifles built by Century arms in Georgia, VT. The WASR is a weapon built strictly for commercial sales in the U.S. from the bottom up. The M-70s were originally built for the Yugoslavian military and were full-auto, but they were de-milled and Century put the parts (barrel, trunions, gas tube, handguards, stock, ect) on a Semi-Auto receiver and with a semi-auto fire control group. Century craftsmanship isnt really top quality so make sure you closely inspect your rifle before purchasing.
I would avoid anything that shoots 7.62x39 with the way ammo prices are now a days. Two years ago I could buy a case (1000rounds) of 7.62x39mm for $80-90. Now I would consider my self lucky if I could find a case for less then $225!![]()
Cool man! The Mosin sounds like a good gun for my use, I'm just looking for a cheap gun that I could take out and shoot once in a while just for fun.
I was reading up on Century and found out that alot of them are shipped out with crappy barrels and recievers. One was described as "Looks as thought it was left in a coal mine for a couple years"
I'm just looking for something with the assault rifle style, that isnt a total waste of money. I've been thinking about building my own AR, lots of people have done so, and there seems to be a good deal of information on doing so, seems like it would be fun to do as a part time project.

I just bought a whole bunch of .223 M855 steel core penetrates before they don't sell them anymore.
