Paroons are farmed for food on a commercial scale, so we are not depleting whatever miserable natural stocks left in the wild. So sad.
When small, paroons resemble MGC (Mekong Giant Catfish, the gigas) and we are told (cannot ascertain the truthfulness) that problems often arise at the border because the fish are hard to distinguish and the agents refuse the entry to anything that resembles MGC.

If the Gerbers' fish were all free, I'd consider a road trip this summer, even though I am in SW FL. MasterB, how badly do they want to get rid of their giants?

Krich, last Sept I got two black ears from Sam of Fishonlinerus (Aquabid) at ~3" for $50 each before shipping. Labeled as "Giant Blue Shark Freshwater Fish". They appear seasonal. One was a spinner and perished in a few months. The other is ~6" right now. Extremely nervous fish. Far, far more so than IDS !! Very prone to nervous breakdowns, running into walls, spooking, spinning, etc. Any stress has a tremendous effect on them.
If your meaning me I don't think so way to far 9h drive and yehI will text Jon tomorrow and see what he says about letting them go for free or next to nothing. Are you interested in the RTCs? He has some huge pacu as well, I bet one weighs 12lbs or so.
Whether anyone is serious or not you did your part in telling others where the fish are and who has them. I'm sure Jon would love to finally sell them. Most people who want paroons either don't want two and three foot fish, are not up to the road trip required to get them from Jon but whatever their reasons are that's all up to the hobbyist.Thebiggerthebetter
I also need to know if everyone/anyone is serious. I tell folks about these all the time in the MP and PM and nobody has went there to get them. I don't want to bother Jon if nobody is serious. I tell him I put them out there for him and ask if anyone has bought any and he tells me no, even thou many folks have said they are going to get one.
Yes u can't come I dig I wold live closer to his store but I'm 9h awayWhether anyone is serious or not you did your part in telling others where the fish are and who has them.
