i have a perfect candidate ray for this right now. a pickey eater and it wont pig out like the others but its in good health just wont thicken up like a fatty

i just did a 3rd experiment.1/2 lbs of salt in 2 gallons of water.this time the ray freaked out unlike the previous 2 rays they were calm.i could only stand 4 minutes of it and put the ray back.he is breathing hard right now.i will observe him more and keep you updated.

This is very interesting. I think an important thing to tell people is what type of salt was used to acheive the salinity. Was it synthetic sea salt or rock salt? If it was synthetic sea salt, won't this alter the pH dramatically since marine conditions have higher pH requirements. Finally, if anyone was to try this, PLEASE make sure the salt has been fully dissolved for at least 24 hours before placing the animal in. Undissolved sea salt is very deadly to marine fish in my experience. Thanks for sharing your experience.

i used water softener salt pellets.I ground them up in blender in hot water than mix in 5 gallon. The ray i just gave salt bath to a few minutes ago just ate a big juicey worm.his color really faded now but his brething is good and he looks good.
