That SUCKS. But maybie it would've died anyway? Idk, I have no experience with it. My theory is that (some?) rays used to be salt/ brackish water but adapted to fresh. Therefore they should be able to tolerate it more than other fish. For the record, I dont believe in MACRO evolution, but do believe in MICRO evolution. But that is a discussion for a different thred.
 
these rays are freshwater and have been for a long time.potamotrygon do not have a certian glan that helps get rid of the salt.like saltwater rays have
 
i pulled mine out after 4 minutes because he was freaking out.the others didnt mind it to much
 
No i didnt walk away, it would be pretty pointless of me to do an experiment if I was going to go do something else for the most important 15 minutes of the experiment. It was just sitting in the bucket, breathing normally. Nothing really happened. Once it got back in the tank, again it just sat there on the bottom, started to curl. 30 minutes later, gone.
 
maybe 15 minutes was too long every rays is different.you probably tried it on a retic i used 3 different black rays with good results on 2 and the third is coming around
