keep at it. if his physical symptoms are subsiding that's definitely a great sign. I'm not trying to give you false hope because this bacteria is a biznitch to kill off. He won't eat for quite some time I'd imagine. If I were to guess the infection is at a pretty advanced stage...he was most likely knocking on death's door when you began treatment. Only time will tell now. Are you adding any salt/doing meth. blue dips? that will help with his breathing.OKAY AN UPDATE! He looks a lot better but hes breathing heavy and not eating. The fish is not expired and tank temp is very low about 70. Its been a good week and finished treatment. I am going to go tomorrow and start another dosage on him he seems like he likes the meds. I am not doing water changes everyday just every other day like the medicine said. He still has this thick mucus/white area on his mouth. What concerns me the fact hes not eating...
Yes I did the dip more live an over night dip because he was literally breathing like he was going to die. He not only looks better but acts better than the initial treatment a week ago. I think he needed that bath to fight off everything so he can maintain his breathing for now. He was looking so much better today. I think the dip really helped him for now. Just taking it day by day.keep at it. if his physical symptoms are subsiding that's definitely a great sign. I'm not trying to give you false hope because this bacteria is a biznitch to kill off. Nevermind read your newest update about the dip bath lol. keep at it. I'd say every 3-4 days try a meth blue dip, double dose in 5 gallons of water for 30 minutes. Don't want to over do the dips since stress will kill him too at this point.
Epsom salt won't do much in this instance. that's more a bloat/secondary hex treatment.Yes I did the dip more live an over night dip because he was literally breathing like he was going to die. I read somewhere EPSOM salt is highly recommended? I been using the pet store salt since I had it from before. Any insight on that?
