You should be able to see it relatively small. I have a Cyano about 4 inches that it is visible.

I've. Thought about it, problem is my lfs can't really tell me which ones are male and female. The only reason I know mine is a guy, is because he has tried to breed with a female convict. Once that started happening I quickly separated them lol. If you guys have any pointers on how to sex carpintis that sure would mean alot. I frigging love carpintis especially blue like mine is

Maybe you can get a female from Jeff Rapp. He's usually pretty reliable when it comes to sexing fish.

I agree that the 90 is too small. I have a pair of syns in a 250g with a Texas and they work fine but the syns especially male do get big and pussy very fast
