As to blaming the banks, that's nonsense. No one forces high-risk borrowers to borrow money. Why take out a loan if you can't pay it off?

It is the banks for taking on high-risk people...

with the hole they dug there self thats what it cost them for each employee with there benifits and the others whos retirement is in it to read the article google big 3 wages per person and you will see thats exacctlky what it cost per person its a fact :WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA:

Though I do have some agreements with you, it sounds like you are speaking with a biased opinion. It IS a bailout. It seems easy to just blame it on the banks and the economy. These companies have made poor decisions, pay too high wages from the union grunts to the suited with their personal helicopters (Bob Lutz for example). They are greedy, period. Wagonner gets a pay increase to $15,000,000 ($1.5m base) THIS YEAR, because they didn't have as large of losses as they expected? WTF?! How is that raise worthy? They DO make crap products, this is not a misconception. I work on cars everyday, and I'm telling you now, US domestics don't hold a candle in quality. From interior pieces falling off...... to engines going crap with xxx amount of miles (and piss poor mileage)- especially when compared to x foreign car with same amount of miles (lets say Toyota, since I went from domestics to a 97,xxx mile 4Runner, and couldn't have made a better decision, it runs better than some of them did with half the mileage). Hell, as much as I like Vettes, they were all pieces of s*** until the C6. I understand a lot of people are having to live with this, and yes it does suck. But they (big 3) have dug what would have been their own grave (and eventually probably still will be), yet they continue to make gross amounts of money. But, if these other companies can get billions, then go on these thousands of dollar spa trips with that very money, then get more.....why can't everyone else. Bottom line....no matter how you look at it......we as your everyday workers are getting screwed by large companies and lenders that have spent money and made terrible decisions that could benefit no one but themselves and their own pockets.

Whether they make crap cars or not is a personal oppinion... My entire family, myself included has worked on cars all of our lives. My brothers work on cars 7 days a week and will disagree with you.

I'm sorry but I have never meet an auto worker that gets paid those numbers...

I know alot of autoworkers....;)

thats NOT what their paid, thats how much it costs the companies to employ a single employee. you have to take into accout benefits, vacation time, L&I costs, taxes, etc...

I'm a GM guy to the bone, if any of the 3 go under, I think it's their own fault, these crisis didn't happen overnight. The japanese are even building better trucks! Shame on us!! I just hope I'll get my new Camaro befor the end.

Exactly. Just because it costs that per employee, doesn't mean that's what goes in those employee's pockets. In essence, we, AS A COUNTRY, are paying double these employees pay in this bailout, just to pay THEIR benefits. What about my benefits....that IIII have to pay for? That I manage to get myself without assistance from a "holier than thou" group of hounds. Trust me, I do feel bad about the pain this is inflicting, but honestly, it's their own fault. By that I not only mean the companies, but the employees as well. I just thought about this today. They signed on to the union crap that increases their costs of employment. Where is this union now? Why can't they help now? Why do they refuse to take decrease in pay to save their beloved employees? Why? Because they are crap. There are so many words and emotions I would like to type, but I simply can't type to keep up with them, nor remember them when they've passed. But basically, this whole "big 3" thing has had me pretty irritated for years now, so this just tipped the iceberg. They knew it was coming for years, but failed to help themselves. Don't blame this on the economy. Companies of this size and magnitude should have themselves backed up for extreme situations.
