lol God forbid I would never kill one. I even use barbless hooks as not to hurt them some cichlids hit hard (esp Oscars) and barbless they come right off the hook .

They live in canals, ditches that are to hot to stagnant for natives and do not take any toll on natives esp since other than S.Florida to cold for them further north in the state.

Very nice JAG

Thanks that day was one fish after another caught several jags . After this guy showed up and refused to leave my fishing was over and left (he would go after fish I hooked) .

What do you fish for in S.Africa?

Btw nice bull terrier. Pitbulls are banned here thus many own bull terriers and great dogs.

yeah just the colors would probably perk a grouper interest up some thats what im saying

Nice catches!!

From now on, forget the canal just go to the ditch/stream!!!!

man... i bet there are some big cats on that canal. fish at dusk and use live fish. anything around 4" that you catch in the ditch will do.

Those are awesome...makes me want to live in Florida...lol
Btw, if you are releasing the fish, it's better not to touch them with a rag, towel, etc. Basically anything absorbant. Same reason surf fishermen who release fish try not to get too much sand on their catch. It removes the slime coat and leaves the fish succeptible to disease.
