Come on guys! Seriously. Just order yourself some bulk head fittings. That's exactly what they are designed for. It's one thing to have a DIY project, but you guys are trying to reinvent the wheel here. It's like me saying I want to replumb my tank but I'm trying to use the drinking straws I have to make plastic tubing. WTF right?
I've used those electrical conduit fittings in a pinch, but long term for this kind of application they are no substitute for propper bulk head fittings. If you're going to do it at all, do it right the first time & get the right pieces.
Or have a headache if that's the way you want it. lol

And in the spirit of DIY the wheel is constantly being re-invented

Just like the canister parts?...BushFishRox;1883055; said:...they still serve the same purpose they have just found ways of making it out of different materials.

Good call on ripping apart the canister for a save to the drywall.
So what actually happened to the 110g anyway?

He was just waiting to dis, as you stated...
pretty funny huh?
I think that you scored a 100% just for having the sack to attempt it, and it worked too? All the better...
Hope you can get your 110g fixed, and get it online soon...![]()
I ran into the same thing...all you have to do is put a ball valve on the pump outlet, adjust it, and it won't suck the lid down as much...Fish Eat Fish;1884119; said:yea thanks. Although I did get the filter to run and actually work...it
REALLY deformed the lid with suction...so although it worked I would not trust it in my current basement. However in the fall I will be moving into a new house where there is an all cement room with a floor drain. This is when I will revive the filter and maybe up the canister size so I can filter a small play pool (pond) project I have in mind.
