by your view its evil they see it as being a hero they are fighting back for what they believe in by using the only weapon they have to give there lifes.
im sure during the war of Independence we viewed each other as evil:nilly:

nothing happens for a reason its all just nature playing out just events and consequences
causes and effects

I agree with what you said, with the exception of, "Nature playing out . . . events and consequences . . . causes and effects." There are many who feel that nature is an active force. Andrew Jackson called it, "Manifest Destiny." Another "Natural" term is "Rugged Individualism." There are also many who feel that there are forces greater than nature that dictate man's fate -- "Divine Inspiration."

"Rugged individualism.

never heard that phrase what does it mean ? bar sounding pretty sexy

To add to the other side of the argument do I hope in my heart that my son was meant to be born to me and only me. That sometimes those that I love that have passed have steered me in one direction rather than another at some moment that I absolutely needed them to. Thats sometimes when something profound occurs from what seems to be just incedible circustances that some type of outside influences was involved in the events, sure I do believe it but I also know that you see what you want to see.

Your child is a product of a random mix of 1/2 yours and 1/2 the fathers dna.Not an argument for predetemination, but rest assured no one else could have produced him.

good call out. I was about to say the same. i was just laughing thinking of her son being born to someone else

Hey, you know it was predetermined that everything was going to break that way (the whole your parents and their parents thing), you know, it was written!

Those worried about a derail, it's the lounge, if you recieve an infraction for derailing in here I'll show you quotes of mods saying it's okay to derail since it's the lounge, not saying i agree with it but if it's the standard they want to set, so be it. I don't think the topic is that far off and hate to see a good debate die for fear of infractions.

How can you use terrorists as a example? Since when does the logic that drives terrorism, make sense and allow for us to view it as normal behavior? You're talking about something that dates back to the Bible. There are 3 basic things that all humankind want: Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our forefathers were intelligent enough to reason this and script it into the Declaration of Independence. These are our unalienable rights and within reason, a threat against any of those 3 unalienable rights is a EVIL or WRONG threat against all mankind.

Your views are narrow minded. Terrorisum is a great example. By their prospective they are in the right. Doing good. By ours they are evil. It's the extreme difference in perspective that makes it a good example. And as for the 3 basic things all humankind want. You obvisoly have never heard of the Maslow's hierarchy of needs which is what everyone in the world wants. Before those are achieved there can not be life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness. In most developing countries this is none existent and yet they aren't evil in my opinion.

No. Actually I think this is informative and enlightening discussion being able to hear others perspective views of the world. But mods normally shut things down when religion gets heavily discussed I was just trying to steer the convo away from that sense our religious and cultural views inevitably define our views of good and evil

I was talking about getting an infraction in reference to religion because people get very offended very quick, and for some reason I offend often, without trying to, when speaking about it.

In reference to my son, I was speaking of his soul, and the second paragraph was to point out that I get the want to comfort yourself by making something actually be profound instead of just a ramdon sequence of events
