Okay, I am through with that garbage brand. Filter number 4 is down. It is a thermal one, I believe a 2128, the heater is malfunctioning. Forget about dealing with company, they are miserable, no help. This is why I like Hagen Fluvals better, sure they can break, any piece of plastic can, but when they do, Hagen makes good on it FAST. Eheim is completely unhelpful.

Pro 3 - seal was only good for a year, have not been able to get the seal for 1.5 years

2128 I have 2, both have broken "double tap units" which I can't get, because they are out of stock and have been for 3 months

Pro 3E - motor failure, no replacement, company unwilling to replace

I'm running a pro2 and I've had problems with it too. When the power goes out or I unplug it to change the filter, the backpressure from the intake hose causes it to flood everywhere. I should probably buy another gasket for it, but I can't find one. Gonna have to check big als or something, but it's been a year since I've seen one. If I could stop this problem, I'd be super thrilled wit this thing and it's ease of use, but the flooding is getting old.:irked:

if you have had that many brake it must be something you are doing wrong

2252 internal running 24/7 for 12yrs + no problems
2228 and 2229 was running 24/7 for over 8yrs sold them 4yrs ago the new owner is still running them
2080 been running mine for 4yrs 24/7 no problems
2078 been running mine for 1yr now no problems

dont know why you cant get parts i can get anything i need within 48hrs

^^ I am willing to bet the customer service experience difference between you two has much to do with your locations.

VS.
T1KARMANN - London UK

You are dealing with two separate service centers.

I ALWAYS have to buy a replacement parts, caling EHEIM in the US is a luxury.

BUT, I never have any problems with any eheim...I have propably used and owns more than 10-15 in my lifetime. My 2217 have been running for 4 years and I am pretty sure i have only disconnect it 3-4 times in 4 years.

My 2028 has been running great for the past year.

Most of the time I only have to buy suction cups, hoses or sealing gasket.

no probs with any of the four eheims I have but they are all 'classic' models and don't have the extra bells & whistles. One of them has been running non-stop for 18 years and the original seal is still good. I'm actually not lying lol.

Running 4 Eheims on two tanks. 3 2028's and a 2080. No problem ever except replacing the head sealing gasket every few years. I will never use any other filter ever period!

Same with me also. No problem with my eheim 2217. Been running great. Also have a fluval 404 but like the eheim better.
