Goldfish dont need a huge 180 smaller is fine, i have some in my pond well over a foot but as long as they reach around 8" they should be pretty healthy. I have a horribly deformed one thats 2" i got it from a guy who kept it in a bowl but its still about 15 years old.

He is down to 2 Goldfish, and they are both deformed, gasping at the surface, and you cant see the bottom under the yellow sludge of food and crap. Sad part is, I'll bet its happening once every 2 blocks in any town or city. Thing is, people usually are misinformed. With my friend, its just a phonecall away. But apparently he just doesn't care. He has a dog too, but shows it lots of affection...perfect example of a normal everyday person.
That's kind of a sad story. I have six goldfish that I inherited and they seem to be doing great. The biggest is maybe 8 inches and they're in my 150 for the winter and out in the pond during summer.
i wasnt positive about the tank size, but i was hoping to make him have his heart set on it, so that when he saw the price tag he might be willing to cough it up. Unfortunatly he wasnt willing to cough up enough energy to do a wc.
