I was told today.. our Discus are injected with dye. the same pair thats been at the store for months... because FW fish can't possibly be that colorful naturally. I blinked.. then asked the guy if he was thinking about parrot fish. which he proceeded to give me a much longer blink on...

I would have been seriously pissed if some one did that to me... although at the same time i do have pics of my tanks on my iphone so what i would have done is say; here is a pic of me standing by my tank and wait for a reaction...
Then, wait for them to apologize (if they even try) and say well, after being insulted like that i might as well take my business as well as my friends business and go else where...
I had someone come into work the other day and bought 3 male guppies 1 female and 15 small comets. I asked him what he was doing with the fishes and he said he has a fish farm and is going to cross breed the guppies with the comets. You can totally tell he was a crack head with the smacking of the lips and eyes darting all over the room like he was seeing ghosts
Another story:
A lady walks into my store saying:
Lady: "do you have chicklets?"
Me: "like baby chickens?" (i work in the fish dept of petsmart so i get all kinds of random questions.)
Lady: "no they're a kind of fish. i think ones called a terrorist fish"
Me: "???????"
Lady: "They're green and called something like terrorist fish"
Me: "Green Terrors?? And they're CICHLIDS"
Lady: "Is that what they're called? Yea i want a green terrorist chicklet"
By this point i know the fish is doomed and did the usual how big is your tank what other fish do you have etc. I explain to her every reason why the fish can not go into her 20g tank with neon tetras and platys but she insists on getting it anyways. So i tell her ok but we will have to void your 14 day guarantee. She gets all upset and gets the fish anyways so i say ok and bag it up...
As im bagging it up:
Lady: "Why did you get water from that tank? shouldn't he have water from the same tank"
Me: "All of our tanks except for the comets run off of the same filtration system so the water is all the same"
Lady: "ok"
As im filling air into the bag shaking my head about how dumb this lady was
Lady: "What is that?"
Me: "It's air"
Lady: "Why are you putting that in there?"
Me: "So the fish can breathe............"
This whole process takes about 20 minutes
. When she finally left people were looking at me nodding their saying "I'm on the same level as you, i'm sorry you just had to deal with that"
That little comment made that whole experience much better

This past saturday I had the dumbest question in a long time. A woman walks over the the reptile section is looking in the iguana tank. Then asks "What colour are the green iguanas?"
