Favorite LFS "CUSTOMER" STORIES ...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One time I was in petsmart and this couple in maybe their early thirties or later twenties were looking at the guppies and platies and they had a tag that said in big print "Peaceful community fish" or something like that and a big green dot which means non aggressive but this couple calls an employee to the other side of the store to ask "Are these fish aggressive?" and "Will they eat other fish?" and obviously the employee "No they will not, see the tag says they are peaceful community fish". Then they kept asking stupid questions for like an hour straight and the guy working there looked like he was going to kill himself. After like an hour of waiting and talking to the employee forever they decide they don't even want to get any fish and I was just standing in the fish food aisle listening on they're entire conversation laughing so hard with every question they ask. They even looked completely brain-dead about everything and every time the employee answered a question they were like "Ooooooohhhh now I get it". Then this next story isn't really that funny just more like he should of did some homework before coming into the store. So when I was bored and at petsmart again with nothing to do this guy comes in right when I was about to leave and he starts asking simple questions like "Do you have an aquarium at home?" and I respond "Yes I do" so then he starts his chatting with me. First he says "I'm thinking about getting my daughter a fish tank for her birthday so I would like to know some stuff about fish first before I get one". At that time I was really happy he was going to research fish before he gets them. So I tell him he can ask me some questions if he wants to. He's very nice and says thank you. So he asks if a certain fish tank is big when he points at the 55 and 75 gallon tanks and I tell him that they are not that big but you might want to consider a little smaller for a first tank. I was just happy he wasn't getting a bowl. So he's fixed on a 30 long tank. Now he asks how to clean it so obviously the response is do weekly water changes and change only 25% of his tank and all that stuff about not changing all of the tank because it will kill your fish. Now it's getting pretty late and I really want to leave the store but I keep being polite and letting him ask questions. So now he has me tell him about every species of fish in the store. So I tell him about EVERY SINGLE FISH in the store. So now that I've given him total fish 101 about water changes, cycling a tank, tank size, complete biographies about every fish in the store he decides he's going to go home to do some research. So the summary is that he made me stay in a store an hour later then I wanted to and decided to go home. I could go on forever with these stories because I go to petsmart, petco, pet supermarket, and lfs' a lot so I get a lot of these but I'm only going to tell one more for now. Somebody has posted another story like this and I find it hilarious there is so many of these kinds. So this kid about 3-5 years old comes into the fish section at petsmart and starts pointing at the fish and starts saying "It's a fish!" and everybody thinks it's so cute and laughs. But I know where this is really going. So this kid keeps saying "It's a fish, It's a fish!" but getting louder each time. So finally this kid is screaming to everyone in the entire store about how the feeder guppies are fish. He continues to do this with every single tank in the store. But no it's not over yet. He gets to the crab tank and his parents are saying to him in a baby voice "Oh, there is no fish in this tank" to talk to the kid. The kid starts going "Why are there no more fishies!?!?!?!" but luckily he doesn't start screaming again. The parents take him to see the birds and people were like "Aww, he was so cute" while in my head I'm thinking "CUTE? He caused a riot in the store by screaming at guppies and goldfish". I feel bad for the fish he screamed at too. They must've been so annoyed. There were plenty more stories about kids trying to find fish that will go into bowls and people talking about they're huge 10-20 gallon tanks but I will talk about those later because there is a million of those on this thread. The guy who had the "baller shark" story still cracks me up.

Always picking on the little guy. Hopefully this raised ur lack of self esteem.

Maybe u need a break from ur fish to resolve
ur issues in the real world..

Oscaro cant say a THING w/o one of u slamming him. Get a wife or a life and preferably not a fat one lol

Lol break from my fish, maybe you should break from forum and resolve your issues in the real world instead of trying to solve others on MFK.... and how does this relate to my fish anyways, most people piss me off and i dont have fun at big social events, no issues there.

I had a guy come in one day complaining that his water was foamy and his fish died. I start asking him questions and he mentions something about live rock. So i ask oh you have salt water his response was no. Evidently when he came in a few days earlier to set up his tank he was too busy staring at the girl i worked withs chest to pay attention to her questions. Then he starts yelling at me and the store owner about our poor business practices

Come down F! vet has done nothing wrong. he is just trying to help a kid who is getting flamed for no reason. Lets get back on track now.

recently went to a petstore. they had a a 20-30 gallon disay tank. It had some African cichlids and a JD. i told them that the JD would get too big. They said that they were upgrading the tank. But The person also added that if they really wanted too they could leave it in the aquarium and it would live and that fish grow to the size of their aquarium. i said that it would die or be misrable. She said that it would be fine. But at least they are upgrading their tank.:confused:
