Favorite LFS "CUSTOMER" STORIES ...

Does anybody else stalk their LFS? Like go there just to look around for fun lol. This place called Ocean BLue, down the street from me, I've been there like 6 times lol and only ever bought something once...and it was $2 worth of prefilter sponges ahah

They must think I'm a little loopy or something

Here's one of my other guys, I kinda went on a betta craze these last 3 weeks...now I have 4

im down my lfs at least twice a week. they no my name and my daughters name and even look after her while i take a look around lol....might have something to do with the fact i buy them beers every few months for being so good to me lol but they no im the crazy fish lady

me: May i ask what size of tank you have?
Customer: Big enough
Me: Sorry sir, i must know the tank size of a fish purchase over $500
Customer: No you don't, it's big enough
Me: Well then the fish are going back
Customer: NO, it's a 4x2x2
Me: Do you have plans to uprade?, if so. When?
Customer: Heck no, That's a massive tank, About 12,000 gallons.
Me: * Slowly puts fish back*
Customer: WHAT ARE YOU DOING IDIOT?
Me: Sorry, that tank is WAY to small, no where even near 12,000 gallons
Customer: Shut up kid, your just a kid what would you know?
Me:I know that a 4x2x2 is 120 gallon, and that you should leave right now.

Customer: What is that?, a *** website for teens?. Im going to tell all my family\freinds about the bad service here. Bye

i honestly would have kicked the guys ass, i would probably get fired for doing it, but it would still be worth it

At my LFS I just saw a guy who bought at least 30 feeder goldies. Wonder what he's feeding

i buy 5 or 6 dozen at a time

Who doesn't stalk their LFS? how else are you meant to know what comes in if you don;t know any staff there who would call you when something interesting comes in

3 days ago i shopped for some supplies sine im setting up a 55 g as a discuss growout i was shopping for testers and filter media

so i went to the counter and asked if they got the supplies i need i wasnt entertained because they were closing a sale.

there was a family who got a 15g setup hob filter lights etc etc etc
the guys asked if they would recommend gravel the lfs girl said she wouldnt recommend that for noobs she explained poop can turn to ammonia and they would need to vaccum it once in a while and stuff all bad things about putting a subtrate

then while i was browsing the guy asked again how soon can we put fish in the tank
lfs girl then took a bottle of anti chlorine and said "five minutes" after you put this

then he selected his fish 5 swordtails 5 black mollies asstd tetras 2 clown loach and the ever so popular every noobie must have the oscar



i felt like educating the guy so i did i explained cycling and that subtrate is good if maintained properly and that his tank is overcrowded and the oscar may eat all the small fish if they dont die because of ammonia poisoning.

then i told him that the lfs gurl didnt educate him about it is because she wants the fish to die and he has to buy more from her. . .

i then looked at her and grinned and told her that if she answered my question i could've went outside and smoke and i didnt have to hear all her nonsense

i walked away and said she couldve made more money from me buying tons of bio balls ceramic rings & testers than a 15 g setup
