this story really doesnt pertain to fish, but its funny none the less.

every week, a customer and her 4 year old son come in to buy a feeder mouse for the snake at home, and every week the son is so happy to get a new mouse. after a couple weeks, i asked her how many mice her son has as pets, and she says none. she tells me that every week when they buy the mouse, he thinks it is for him to keep as a pet, so he has a hamster cage in his bed room for the mouse to play in. then, when he goes to sleep, she takes the mouse out of the cage, leaving the cage door open, and feeds it to the snake. then in the morning when her son asks where the mouse went, the mother tells him, "oh, well the cage door is open, it must have gotten out in the middle of the night. we can get another one later this week if you want."

pretty cruel to do to your child, but i couldnt help but laugh at the story.

Well a I think it was last month I went to a pet store out of town just to see if they had anything special witch they ended up having some nice FH but they also had a 10” Ornate poly and a 4 ornate so were looking around and this guy asks me if I needed any help I tell him ill take the large ornate he had in the one tank and he looks at me and in a kind of rude way says its not a poly ornate it’s a ornatipinnis bichir I was like ok so what’s the smaller one then he’s it a Polypterus ornatipinnis so I was what’s the difference he’s like well the bichir gets bigger and meaner than the polypterus does , I have kind of a bad temper and really don’t like it when people start talking to me real rude when im asking a simple question , im a pretty big boy and I’ve been boxing since I was 8 except for the last year or two due to my car accident and work but I wanted to just smash this kids face in so bad and I kind of was getting irritated and was ready to just throw down in the store when my mom kind of got in my face and calmed me down the kid walks off and I look around a little more and have this other guy help me who was real nice and seemed to know what he was talking about and was trying to get me to buy a 24” silver aro they had as he’s netting the ornate out the other punk walks by and was like what size tank are you gona put him in i said I had a nice little five gallon bowl for him he just looks at me and walks off the other kid looks at me and just laughs and says he thinks he knows it all.

I almost gave employees at a LFS a story to share. When I first saw green tiger barbs, I thought they were tiger barbs with some sort of skin condition. It didn't help things that they were mixed in with normal tigers. Lukily, I kept my mouth shut. I wouldn't be surprised if other people have made the same mistake. Not a good looking fish, if you ask me.

there you are wrong you should see what they look like when they have been in their own tank for a few months

the lfs i shop at has a 450g open top display pond that they redid with barbs looks just spectacular

Once, at Petsmart, I heard two kids talking about starting a Comet fight club. They bought like 50 comets. I wonder how that worked out :screwy:

Definately. It would just upset the child constantly.

My wife an I have 7 kids, and the only image that comes to mind here is of a little wee one on the lookout for said escaped mouse getting himself into some scary places

Or even funnier if the little boy decided that the new mouse needed to be able to go find the other ones :headbang2 :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

Personally I have found that my kids understand real life quite clearly and they are smart enough to figure out things

lmao i had a guy when i worked in the petstore local to me, walk in and walk right up to this 17 inch giant gourami set up and say id like to buy that fish it looks awsome, so i reply yea hes a beauty, inquiring i said you must have a nice tank set up, he says yea i just got one its this big, walks me over to the setups we have and points to a 10 gallon , i look puzled and out of sheer curiousity i say thats not the tank youd make it live in is it? he goes o no, by no means would i do that, do i look stupid,? im keeping him in this tank and points to a 20 gallon long.... i sware i never looked at someone with such stupidity in my life, so i reply, i dont think this fish is the right choice for you sir, so he says ok fine what about this one, than walks over to the P bass setup and says il take for of those, so i look at him again and say thats not a good choice either, so he goes what do you mean, my tank is plenty big these fish are only 4 inches each, so i reply yes but they will soon be massive, so he goes, fine what fish do youi suggest, so i walk over to the Betta setup grab one bag it hand it to him and with a smile say have a nice day sir =]

I heard a couple in a chain pet store discussing using cat litter in an aquarium, and I didn't stick around long enough to get involved but I noticed that at the woman's feet was a box of clumping litter with added scent.
