Note post #34 @RD mentions thiamine not really an issue if using vitamins, also in that thread I think there was mention that its not an issue too if feeding pellets in their diet

Thank you for linking that thread, it confirms what I thought.

My question then comes back to feeding freshwater species versus marine species. Are there any real issues with feeding a marine species? Salt levels etc.

they ate a little the first few days. After one week they didn’t have a problem eating it. The sodium content is higher since it’s a marine fish. However it’s very low in fat compared to tilapia.

I remember there was a member here that was feeding cod fillet

I fed cod mixed with some tilapia and my bichirs took to it like it was crack the instant it hit the water even the shy eaters were cruising the tank on the hunt for it

I've always liked trout, it's a bit higher in fat (like salmon), but ok as a part of a broader diet
