well thanks for the input guys, having read all of your opinions and standing back looking at my tank and thinking about the matter... i think that i will just leave the letters up. i guess it does show that she was thinking of me and i should be thankful for that, i just didn't realize that before. for those who were curious ... she does have an appreciation for the fish we keep, she also feeds them and turns the lights on and off and tops the tank/sump off when i am away at work for weeks at a time. so i guess i just didn't process all of the elements of the whole situation at the time. but the letters will be staying until valentines day. thanks again

When a man says, "I don't want decorations on the tank" all he really means is "I don't want decorations on the tank". When a woman hears "I don't want decorations on the tank", she hears "I don't appreciate things you do for me, you're stupid and your ideas are stupid, I take you for granted." So you have to find a way to put your foot down and set a boundary without offending her emotional, irrational female sensibilities. If you let this slide, it's only going to get worse.
Like I said "pick your battles" and for anyone who misunderstands exactly what that means: "Don't make something a fight, especially if the other person has good intentions!"
I'm glad you are keeping them up there, especially since she supports your "habit." I have to put up with some of my husband's dumb bull crap sometimes too, cos he helps me with water changes, redecorating tanks, and lifting heavy things! We went on vacation for our 5 year anniversary last week, and on our anniversary, he took me to his uncle's ranch, and hunted for holey rock with me. Now there's a keeper

OP, I'm glad that you could sit back and realize that she is just trying to love you, in a corny kinda way but that doesn't matter. And you think you have to put up with bs like Valentine stickies, really she had to put up with you and your obsession.. fish keeping! I know mine does, and I put up with his car obsession... it'a a give a take thing, all the time.
You need to print out a few of these to put on your tanks.

^^^As u just stated your hobby. You must be alot more easy going then myself. I would say thanks babe that was sweet and i appreciate the loving gesture. Take the **** of my tank and put it on the fridge Right then. And that would be me being nice. I hate people messing with my stuff no matter who it is. Exspecialy my tanks. WOuld piss me off completly. And picking out my fish for me wouldnt happen. I would give her your own tank like you did. Tell her do what you want to it and i will take care of it for you. But leave my tanks alone
