fish tank vandalism

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You guys have missed the fact (or forgotten) that she feeds the fish, and does tank maintenance when he's away for weeks at a time. Jeez...I don't call that him being a push-over, but a man who realizes how lucky he is to have a woman who actually cares for his animals while he's gone.

I know a guy who's in the Air Force, and every time he goes on deployment, he comes home to a house full of dead animals because his flavor of the week didn't take care of them properly, and let them all die/starve to death.

for valentines day my wife decorated the front of my fish tank with these sort of sticky gel letters and hearts that read " happy valentine day" we have been going back and forth since i saw them. it is really driving me crazy. can anybody relate to this, would you put up with it or take them down?? fill me in
I remember very well the last time my wife stood up and declare with rage out of her eyes that i should make a decision between her and the ARAPAIMA it has been 2 years now and the PIMA seems to miss her sometimes///////////////////

Does the arapaima sob when it sees her picture?

In my opinion i think thats cute but then again your a guy. At least she trys i wouldn't leave it up to long i've had those gel stick ons on my windows and walls before and they have left color stains just let her no you appreciate it and that you love her i'm sure she would understand considering all the money and effort that goes in to a hobby like yours.

I am gonna go out on a limb here, but, I think this limb can hold the weight of what I am gonna say.

From reading the thread I take that your wife is not indifferent to your hobby and even actually helps with it.

If I were you, this is what I would do. I would dedicate that tank to your wife and then make it a dual build tank. Totally redo it as a tank that she can have the overriding decision on stocking, decor etc.. .

How long have you been married if I might ask?

Now to share a quip from my own hobby experience with my wife. There was a 50g tank that I bought that came with fish. The guy asked me if I had space to rehome 3 8 inch catfish. I said for sure. What I got was a nasty surprise. 3 iri sharks from 10-14 inches in length.

I kept upgrading the tank size that they were in as they would grow, though I had a real hatred for them because they are so skittish. I even had one of them jump a tank go about 3 feet in the air and land in my waterchange sink. My wife could hear me from the basement as I literally told the fish what I thought of it.

Yet, my wife told me she loved them and that they were her favorite fish. So they ended up in my 8 foot 300g. Eventually, I was able to place them at one of the local fish stores 1500g tank.

What I did do though is hunt down 3 10 inch columbian sharks and have them set up in my 180g folr tanks. I specifically got them and dedicated a 6ft tank for them so that my wife could have a species of fish that she loves in my collection. She said she really likes the body style and way they swim. I will eventually set up a shark pond as a suprise for her.

Personally, if the day ever comes that my hobby is more important than the only person in the world with a ring that matches mine I will take a hammer to each and every one of my tanks.

At the end of the day, I have come to appreciate the shark looking catfish and have my own quasi shark tank.
