Fishroom people vs. living room fish people

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Living room tank here... and a dining room tank. I spend most of my time there with my family, so it's nice to watch the fish and try to get my kids into the hobby from a young age. If I spend so much time cleaning and maintaining the tank I want to see it as much as possible!

Of course, we don't have a basement, so it might be a different story but I really don't like too much maintenance, so a couple nice tanks where I hang out most is all I need....

At my current point in life, i am proud to have a fish room. It has simplified many things... And we still have a show tank in our kitchen. I have cut out a lot of the small stuff... I love sitting in my basement, it's like sitting in heaven. I can do water changes on all my tanks so easily, because they are all in one room!!! When I was younger and living in different places yes of course, I had tanks everywhere in the house.

That would be awesome to gaze at your fish til you fall asleep in your bed.. how convenient. I usually doze off while admiring fish then have to walk all the way upstairs to sleep.

You and me both! :)

Double stands rock!

I am more the fish room type ,,,,,BUT I have 2 living room tanks....(4 tanks in side by side rooms that I would CONSIDER "FISH" rooms)

I guess "fish room" can be defined several ways. It could be a room with a bunch of tanks. I think a fish viewing room is also a "fish room", especially if it is a room dedicated to fish---it shouldn't matter if no water changes are done in the room.

I found this picture on the website of the now defunct Tenecor company. (The picture was tagged Seaquariums Kentucky). It has been inspirational to me, and it is my vision of my ideal "fish room". I hope to duplicate a lot of the features in my fish room which is less than half the size.

The same exact picture that was on Tenecor's site is on Seaquarium's website http://www.seaquariums.com/images/168.jpg

If my scaled down version turns out even slightly similar, I'll be a happy camper.

Mine are in both but my living room has a 600 gallon in it.

As of now my tanks are all over the house but my next place will have a fish room/man cave. WCs are such a pain with tanks all over the place.
