Look at the reported lawsuits regarding this vehicle and how many people were killed in them due to rollovers, tire separation (blame firestone for that one), and side impact deaths. They're great if you hit someone with the front end but get hit anywhere else over 30 and you're pretty much toast. But drive what you like, maybe it works better for you than some.
Yup. x100. A friend of mine and his mom died in an Explorer rollover after a blowout.

I like my 4-runner v6 . 175,000 miles and never a breakdown in 12 years .2 of my buddys had explorers . 1 got totalled , and the other has hella breakdowns ...

Yes the 4runners of old! Also..I personally really liked some of Izuzus suvs, haven't researched them at all but I have good things to say about them. We used to have a Ford Bronco, fun to drive but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Something was wrong in ours in that for every bump we hit the seat belts tightened to where you could hardly breathe..
