FX5 100% the best external !!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well you Can find this filter as low as $209 on ebay plus $10 dallor warranty and $25 shipping... they're are some websites selling them for $250 shipped.... which a pretty good price considering i've seen them going for up to $330.00. As far as water movement... it has two exhaust nozzels that rotate 360 degrees. I'm going to hooking one up to my 300gallon indoor pond... we'll see how it turns out.

What on-line stores have it, I've checked 4 of them w/out success???

Howdy,

I think the feedback from Eheim users isn't bad, either :D .

The only person who reported some trouble (water clarity with Pro 3) was myself, and some filter floss took care of it. As I stated in another thread, the FX-5 is a decent filter. However, its long-term reliability and longevity have to be judged a few years down the road. This is an advantage of Eheims.... Even the "new" (in the US) Pro 3 is in its third year in Europe now. And its mechanics are based on proven Eheim technology.

I am not saying the FX5 is unreliable - I am just saying it has to stand the test of time. It's easy to have 100% customer satisfaction with a new product. Go ahead, get one, run it for a few years, and then - please - report back in this thread.

Crush the record, because so far, only a few Fluvals have made it on that list ... ;)
After all, product review like this is a great advantage of an online community like MFK!

BTW: I have no stocks in Eheim.

:lol2: You completely misunderstood the post I made. It is not an attack but a question as to why it is SO GOOD! Just because someone say it is "VERY GOOD" doesn't make it good. When you post something about a product, usually, you would make valid objectve points as to why it is a very good product. Just saying it is GOOD does not justify the product being good. And I have search the net about information, and most of the data I found are just based on the martketing ads. I have not seen an objective rating on this product, mostly subjectve. :lol2: So before you start a crazy post, look at the big picture. Inhale, exhale. Oxygen helps to keep the brain thinking clear. :)

Im cool trust me and I didnt feel like I was attacked, just answering what looks like a demand or a challenge....what you seek has already been posted on this site from actual users other than myself - if you cant find it, you havent looked hard enough either here or on the net. Not that its difficult to find either. So its up to YOU to go find it yourself and dont wait for others to hand feed you what YOU seek...I doubt anybody would want to help you when you have that attitude anyway - I know Im not
....oh by the way go ask the Eheim posse what the definition of Objective is -

Are you asking me what subjective and objective means?

no offense to anyone... but from my understanding... subjective is what the product presents and says on the manual and box. objective is what you notice and your opinion on the product. :)

i think the FX5 is a wonderful product to consider it's powerful pump and heavy duty housing and filtration. my lfs told me it's a master piece but their is one draw back on the fx5 for some people. since it is tall the aquarium stand should be tall enough to have it at the bottom. that's what my lfs told me. and besides it's more of the looks that would be bodered by this and not performance which is the main point of having great canister filters.:)

The height should be an equal problem for either with Fluval or Eheim....If the Fluval wont fit, you can bet the Eheim III wont either because of the height (pump is on top, Fluvals is on bottom)....

can you give a number to how tall it is please? inches? feet?
