Whatever use whatever color/colour you want, as for me, I need to start thinking about a vacation I'm getting really bored. Anyone seriously interested in these pain in the butt RTGG's. 300 1~2 inch fish and a auto fish feeder and I could go away for a month without worrying that someone didn't follow simple instructions.

How about a really overcomplicated time lock safe thing so they could only get to certain feeds a day a time, no risk or overfeeding then

Failing that shock therapy: 'only feed this amount per day , I said only feed this amount per day' It'll sink in really fast

Even better, hammer therapy: 'only feed this amount per day , I said only feed this amount per day' It'll sink in really, really fast

What are you feeding them? With a pacu of that size in the same tank then there must be one hell of a lot of food going in to start a mini cycle.
As master Tequila says go for more veggies, any will do

Pellets for carnivorous fish got a huge stock that I'm planning to replace by Koi food once it's finished.

They do eat a lot, not only the pacu but the cats as well... and what goes in must come out...

I will start with the veggies as from tomorrow... will go through the thread to get the list...

Lettuce is a good staple
Mango
Cabbage
Apple
Cauiflour
Peas

I could go on for ages but any veg and most fruits will do you'll need a patented shovel for any worms Cheap export rates

Purchased the Aquaclay today... 2kg for one canister... this has been added to the ceramic rings and bio-balls... will get another 2 kg next week for the other canister...

Will now have to wait for one month for the one canister I've upgraded today to be at optimum filtration capacity... so, in 5 weeks my teo canisters will be fully operational

As per my normal habit to post pictures of everything, here's this:

BTW, I tried the carrots today... both the RTGG and the pacu ate a small piece each and ignored the rest... will have to try something else... maybe the carrots are too hard for them to chew... though I did cut them bite-size...

Try shaved carrots otherwise yeah there way too hard.

That stuff looks like the Cichlid Pellets I feed to my RTGG's.
I think if you just use Ehiems Bio Ceramic pieces it would more than enough.
