I have done it myself. Mine was a 4" cuda and 10" hujeta. And I kept feeders in the tank at all times for a few months. But the first time the hujeta got hungry the cuda was gone.

Hey guys I just got a 55 gallon aquarium and I own a hydrolycus scomb and a senegal bichir and I'm wanting to get a red tail barracuda soon and I just wanted some info on it to make sure I can handle owning one.

If you have a ARMATUS then for get it. But for any other payara species.

The ones they have are 4" but they are falcirosus and will grow 1-1.5" a month up to 8-9". So pick up a few and put them in a 20 long or so and fatten them up and them mix them with your payara.

Once they get more then half the length of the payara then they will not be looked at as food.

I just picked up 10. And they are doing great.

What is your trick? I am about to get a few red tail cudas again. And they always come in stressed out and ready to die.
