It's a Comet. Won it at a county fair, and had it in a bowl, ended up living so I decided to upgrade, and so that's what got me started on my 55. For the first 3 years of it's life it was regular orange, but after the third year it lost all of it's color and has been white ever since. It's going on 6 years so who knows

Thats a great story nenedudette! I won a fair goldfish too, he lived for 5 years. Its amazing what that little guy lived through in my youth and inexperience (stupidity)

goldfish are known to do that; for instance, the fancy type "black moor" usually don't stay black!

I had some goldfish in a pond, and they all turned white after a few months. The just kept losing more and more colour, till they had none left one day!

Probably water, some sand, a piece of wood that sinks, some aquatic plants...oh and fish.
