Growing up blue

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
UPDATE:

The regular jd female has been banished to a top corner of the tank, the pink and blue are starting to swim together and shake and shimmy for each other.

Pink female has been moving sand from under the driftwood.

I don’t think they are a fully bonded pair yet. But we are getting there!!

This is good news. Hopefully the other competition in the tank will create a strong bond like yankee Jack mentioned.

Really enjoyed going through this thread. I would like to own ebjd some day and would be sweet to breed as well. I feel like I have learned a bit about these guys just watching this. Will need to also check out yankeejack threads soon too. Akblue had amazing successful spawning in all corners of his life lol.

Quick question for you. Why do you cross the ebjd with regular or pink female. Why not just straight ebjd?

Definitely checkout those two threads, they have been much more successful thank myself haha.

Ebjd x ebjd produces 100% EBJDs but the fry are weak and there’s been no record of anyone raising the fry past a week or two.

Ahhh. Now that makes sense. I had a feeling it was something in the lines of fertility. Are ebjd hybrids or are they selectively bred or something like that?

Thank you for letting me know about this. That’s why I’m looking them up before I even think about seriously buying them with intent to breed. Sounds like a neat, fun, but frustrating project to try

Not sure which side of the fence I fall on for this debate, but you will find people that fall on either side.
