GT & Gold/White Saum pic thread

i got a gold saum a couple months ago. he/she barely eats (chews and spits out almost all food it takes into its mouth) and is growing very slowly (maybe went from 1.5" to 2.5" in two months). is this normal eating and growth behavior for a saum?

they were taken when I first got him, he's doubled in size since then.

his eating patterns are just so much different than any other cichlids I've kept, it makes me worry that it could be eating more and growing faster.

He must be stressed or sth?

Awesome, does anyone know if the vertical bars disapeer with age cause my young one is not a solid as the older ones.

Hi all, new to the forums and love looking at all of your Gold Saums. I just got 2 yesterday. Here they are, and can anyone tell me there sex at such a young age? There quite different in coloring and pattering, the dark one is the more aggressive one and is already showing the other fish whos boss. The current dominant fish in the tank is a Fire Mouth that is about twice there size.
