other than the fact that a handgun round will go through multiple sheetrock walls endangering others. shotgun blasts will not go through near as many. I think my 7 rounds of buckshot plus a side saddle will do the trick bud...

If any new ban is identical to the '94 AWB then you will still be SOL. The CA ban is and was more stringent then the national ban. Since your weapon is already CA legal it shouldnt be effected. I REALLY doubt a national ban would be put into place as strict as the CA AWB. You would have ALOT of pissed off people.

Remember that most democrats outside of CA and NE are still gun nuts so we (the nation [like I said before you are SOL being CA]) still have hope.

Hey all,

I will be moving out of the rents house within a year, as I will be graduating in May. One of my first purchases will be a shotgun. I am choosing this as the ideal weapon to protect my home for a couple reasons. 1 - I don't have to be an Ace shot with it, the spray helps and 2 - The sound of a shotgun cocking is a very distinguishable sound.


My question is this: What to get? I have been looking at pistol grips with a folding stock, and I like remington's (http://www.remington.com/products/f.../model_870_folding_stock_7-shot_Extension.asp)

Is there anything else you guys would recommend? Any other shot/gun in general?

hey rmorse, if money is no object, check out the stuff made by Wilson and Scattergun. very nice stuff. a bit much for home defense though. but they are pretty

yeah i think most of these are built off the 870. they take the 870 and spice them up with all the goodies for military and law enforcement

yep, that's always been my understanding too. some people just swear by mossberg's, not my preference. i'e had 0 trouble with any of my 3 870's ever.

no doubt! those breecher barrels are bad ass! i believe i've seen them for around $100
