I have fed them crickets in the past im gonna try tht and have fed krill but its so expensive its 20$ for a can that would last me a week or 2
Ur right I do buy foods on amazon krill is still expensive and mine were greedy bastards but ever since they started breeding they have less interest in food. I love when they go nuts for food.Trust me on this one, it's much cheaper to order fish food on amazon. Especially with prime, rather than lfs. You should only give the Oscars a few krill every other day as a booster. I thought pigs where the only things i would consider a hog, until i first bought an Oscar. Beautiful fish, just greedy af.![]()
Really were u sure they were male and female I c alot of youtube ppl being successful. I heard lots of ppl get 2 females tht pair up.I have raised and had plenty of Oscars, they layed eggs all that, never had a success, and have yet to to talk to or hear from a home aquariest(sp) that has.
I have 2 small slates in there and a flat pot they seem to like the pot the most they keep picking at it.I gravel vac the entire tank to be sure that the nesting area doesn't become too messy. Fanning helps greatly to ensure that there's flow over the eggs to keep them safe. So cleaning helps in that area. Especially with all the debris that might still be under the substrate. Maybe add some slate, even though Oscars like to dig their nesting areas. Sometime a small change can make a big difference. The size of the fish and the angle they're trying to achieve fertilization, can make the difference in a success of fertile eggs also. Doing things different and listening to all the options that is handed down to you, can create sometime good. That's what i realized this forum is for. It might work and it might not. But ask you're self! are you tired of doing the same thing with the same result?
