Also, three of my females have more anal fin spots than my male, and only the wild colored one has no egg spots. So confusing! Once you start raising your own it gets simpler because you don't have the risk of buying a hormone treated female that looks like a dominant male. I raised all those females, but purchased the male. He is the father of the second and last one and you can see he put some more red into them.
One parting note: if it's a female that was treated with hormones, it might take a year for the fins to shorten up to a typical female's length, lol.
