HELP stingray with ammonia burn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The filters have seasoned media. I can move the ray to a 29 gallon. I'll get some covers for the heaters asap

A 29 gallons is far from sufficient for a ray. Obviously your tank is not cycled since you have .25 ammonia 0 nitrite and 0 nitrate. You need to monitor the tank closely atm. Do 50% wc at least every other day and hope for the best until this tank is fully cycled.

I retested once I got home, the nitrates seem to be at about between 20 and 40 ppm. Also, the ph is at about 7.6 the rest tested at about the same, which is 0 ppm nitrite and between 0 and .25 ppm ammonia

I didn't properly shake the nitrate test #2, so I think that's why it wasn't picked up at first

Okey. You should change some water and salt the water 3dl salt per 100L of water.

What type of salt? Also, what is a dl?

You can use table salt or water softening salt. Not epsom salt. 1dl is 0.5 cup. So you can dose 1.2cup per 26g of water. Thats equal to 3dl salt per 100L of water. Thats what i usually dose.

Alright, thank you so much for all of the help. Would seachem stressguard be fine to use to promote healing with the ray?
