HELP stingray with ammonia burn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
what other stock you have and what's your water change regime prior to the incident

1 ray + 1 AA + seasoned media + 300 gal tank.... don't seem to tally with ammonia burn

So far I'm doing about 20/30% a week, and I have no other stock

maybe do a test before water change to see the result

if the ray and AA are still juvenile, i will doubt it's ammonia burn... anyway what makes you think is ammonia burn?

Could the AA attack the ray or like the other posters says, the heater?

I was saying ammonia burn because it looked similar to other days with ammonia burn. It could very well be heaters. The AA wouldn't bother the ray. He has no signs of aggression, and his mouth couldn't actually fit around the ray

sure give it a try and see if there is recurrence but maybe you can consider increasing the volume of water you are changing

i do 80% a week...

but i guess how much you do will depend on your readings.... although more is better than less

So far my numbers have been good. I'll try bumping up the amount of water I change. Thanks for your help!

Your numbers are not good since your stingray has ammonia burn. You should be doing 50% every other day.
