ugh i hate all the stupid things i didnt think of, got new bulkheads in and installed standpipes, got the tank on the stand, filled the overflows and tank half up, and realize it isnt quite perfectly centered. now how do i slide 3000lbs over a quarter of an inch? i just cant get my female pvc adapter to turn, it fits in, just cant turn it. i really dont want to drain it again

ok so my first real injury in this build, (amazed i still have all my limbs) so im sitting in my stand trying to make the holes a lil bigger so i wont need to drain and move tank 1/4 inch and using a wood chisel and hammer. the chisel jumped out and flung through the air and grazed my leg. no pain, no blood, just a 3" clean cut about an inch deep in my thigh. still doesnt hurt, but i can see the fat in my leg under the skin. o well a few butterfly stitches and im good.

atleast your injury was for a good cause. putting together a monster stand!

"thanks for the tips, this thing was loaded with old silicone"

The silicone more likley caused a leak than fixed one...

ya i learned that lesson. i got it cleaned out well and it seems to be good to go

I had to do the same thing with the overflow in my 125 gallon acrylic when I got it. Had mad silicone and leaks. I tried to resilicone over the silicone and no bueno. Took a razor and razored all that **** off real good (so good it seemed like I was making the leak worse but it was necessary to remove the old silicone) and when I got a new fresh bead on the clean seal it was solid.

ok heres a possibly stupid question, but has me really concerned. do arcylic tanks bow? mine seems to bow top to bottom, not side to side, maybe an inch and its only half full (or half empty of we are being pessimistic) when i put a level to the side of it and hold it vertical there is about an inch gap at the top. should i be worried? PS acrylic is only 1/2 inch thick, but isnt it supposed to be like 10X stronger than glass?
