My Hoplias malabaricus pair appears to be in breeding mode.
They have refused food for about half a month. The two fish constantly head-nod and clean a nesting site inside a cave/hideout.

The tank is 55 gallons. My local tap water is very hard, so I have been doing 50% daily water changes with cool RO water to simulate the natural rainy season conditions.

Currently the heater is set to 27°C, and the tank pH is stable around 7.0. Both fish are around 30 cm in length and seem to be a bonded pair.

Could anyone give me some tips to help them spawn successfully? What adjustments should I make to temperature, water change routine or water parameters? Any practical advice is greatly appreciated.有人能给我一些技巧，帮助我成功孵化吗？我应该对温度、换水频率或水质参数做哪些调整？任何实用的建议都十分感谢。

Anybody else here breeding large oddballs or non cichlid fish? If so what are you breeding and share pics. I know there was a member once who breed wolfish in a wolf fish community tank, one who breed ghost knife fish and i think one who breed pac man cats. Are these guys till around any updates or info?

So I wanted to try a new breeding project and thought about trying rainbow wolf fish. It seems pretty straight forward. I was wondering when they breed in the wild though, I would think if you can recreate the natural conditions that trigger breeding in the wild it would maybe insight breeding in captivity. So if anyone has any experience or information that could help i would appreciate it
