My Hoplias malabaricus pair appears to be in breeding mode.
They have refused food for about half a month. The two fish constantly head-nod and clean a nesting site inside a cave/hideout.
The tank is 55 gallons. My local tap water is very hard, so I have been doing 50% daily water changes with cool RO water to simulate the natural rainy season conditions.
Currently the heater is set to 27°C, and the tank pH is stable around 7.0. Both fish are around 30 cm in length and seem to be a bonded pair.
Could anyone give me some tips to help them spawn successfully? What adjustments should I make to temperature, water change routine or water parameters? Any practical advice is greatly appreciated.有人能给我一些技巧,帮助我成功孵化吗?我应该对温度、换水频率或水质参数做哪些调整?任何实用的建议都十分感谢。
