How do people/guests react when they see your aquarium?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One of my friend works in a hospital. She saw my Albino Sen and said, "That looks like a finger!" And another one doesn't like fish (she thinks they're ugly) so her reaction was, "Eww, Eww, Eww, Eww!" Everyone else..."Nice Tanks"

my 135 is a bare bottom and whenever people come by they always ask, "dont fish tanks need gravel?" =(

Guy friends usually say "Holy Crap! that fish tank is huge and look at those big *** fish!"
Then Girl "Friends" usually say "Eww those are scary!"

I did bring a girl over to my house and showed her some of my collections.. She showed some interest in some of my fish until she saw the Gar.. and her reaction was.. "I never knew fish can look like that... that is so cool"...

I was happy.... ;)

Some of my friends also comment on my plecos.. or they call it sucker fish... they thought it was funny how i liked a fish that just sucks on the glass and do nothing... I was a bit offended......

It really does take other ppl who are into fish to really appreciate the setup u have...

My biggest fish tank is opposite the door so I always leave the door open and when the neighbors pass my apartment they always take a peak and stare. Then they ask how long does it take to clean.

They generally don't care too much and usually have little or no appreciation for it. Unfortunately, most of our visitors are the types who's kids had fish "but they died" :roll eyes:

My old Senegal was a real crowd pleaser. She used to as entertained by guests as they were of her...lol
Most people said "This big tank [(Only a 39)] for just one fish?"
Or "Why don't you get something colorful?"
Well, those people won't like my new stocking for said tank, it's pretty much 8 shades of brown

Actually, depending on the filtration, you could definitely get more fish with one senegal in a 39. Maybe an elephant nose or african knife, they'd look nice in there. (Then again, it doesn't really matter any more since the fish died...)

Anyway, when my relatives come over I usually only show a few of them my fish tank. My uncle (who's also into fish) always sees them, and then sometimes I show my cousins, who think they are quite cool.

I tend to get the "oh they're big, but they're all brown or gray" in reference to my cichlids

I usually get "Wow, those are some big fish!". The one that ticks me off is that 1/2 the people who see my tanks ask if they're salt water fish.
